Ok so if you own a honda ATV you need to get a Pull Start Leak Shield, or use the Sealent Method. With the Leak shield you will lose the function of your pull start because you are replacing the pull start with the shield. With the Sealent method you will have to reseal after each use of the pull start.
According to a Honda mechanic Hondas are notorious for allowing dirt and mud to enter the crankcase via the pull start. The seal behind the pull start is cone shaped and is designed to keep the oil from leaking out. The problem is that when the pull start begins to get packed with mud it forces the mud to enter through the seal.
I went with the Pull Start Leak Shield from Highlifter. But here are the instructions for the much cheaper sealent method.
Take off the pull starter cover, run a bead of silicone around the edge of the cover, paying special attention to the drain hole, and filling the end of the rope handle and the socket the handle sits in with silicone as well. Makes the pull starter harder to use on the first pull, but does the job without eliminating the auxillary means of starting the quad.
